Own Your Heat

Why Your Hair Issues Matter

Choosing the right temperature for styling your hair matters because it’s all about keeping your hair healthy and achieving the look you want. Thinner or damaged hair needs gentler heat, so understanding what your hair’s going through can really help your styling routine to be as safe – and healthy – as possible.

Heat-damaged hair

If your hair has been styled at the wrong heat for your hair type, it needs extra TLC. Keep the temperature low, around 120°C to 150°C, to style gently and bring your hair back to life.

Menopausal hair

During menopause, hair can change in texture, becoming dry, brittle, and unpredictable. Treat it gently with lower temperatures, about 140°C to 160°C, to help your new hair get into its new groove.

Pregnancy hair

During pregnancy, your hair might be fuller and more vibrant thanks to those hormones. However, it can also become more sensitive and prone to damage. Go for moderate temperatures, around 150°C to 170°C, to keep your hair as healthy as possible during pregnancy and beyond.

After giving birth, many women experience postpartum hair shedding due to hormonal changes. Be extra gentle with your styling tools during this time, using lower temperatures around 140°C to 160°C, to minimise stress on your hair and support its recovery.

Frizzy hair

If you’re battling the frizz, smooth out those flyaways with moderate temperatures, about 160°C to 180°C. Avoid the temptation to crank up the heat as it may have the opposite effect to what you want, and dry your hair out even more.

  • The 2-in-1 Contouring Iron Pro has innovative Revive Mode™ with Axial Vibration Technology™ helps to minimise the amount of time your hair is in contact with the Floating Ceramic Plates, helping to reduce frizz and flyaways.
  • The Airshot Pro: If your frizzy hair is on the curlier side on the hair types scale, the Airshot Pro can help with its Magnetic Diffuser attachment.
